Ev.-ref. Kirche Greetsiel: Lesung mit Inselpastor Jan Janssen
On Sunday, July 19, at 5:00 p.m., Island Pastor Jan Janssen (Wangerooge) will read from his new book, “A Handful of Moments.” It is based on a series of short devotions held on the island of Wangerooge. And, of course, he’ll have a few copies on hand for anyone interested.
Experiencing islands and coastlines takes us into unfamiliar territory. Our eyes gain a sense of perspective where not a single mountain—let alone any high-rise building—obstructs the view. Our noses reach out into the sea air. They catch the scent of salt and mud, picking up on wild roses and fish. It’s good to be where the scorching sun, the blowing wind, and the rushing rain long to touch your skin. Added to this are a few experiences of biblical faith: Moments of connection with summer on the coast. Curious? You’re warmly invited! Doors open at 4:00 p.m. Admission is free.

The Evangelical Reformed Church in Greetsiel is located in the historic town center of Greetsiel on Hohe Straße. Please note that parking in the town center of Greetsiel is limited. Please use the paid parking spaces at the town entrance near the Zwillingsmühlen. From there, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the Greetsiel Church at Hohe Straße 2.
