In the early 1920s, young Nick Carraway, a stockbroker, is drawn to Wall Street in New York. He moves into a small house on Long Island. His neighbor is a mysterious man known for throwing the city’s most legendary parties: Jay Gatsby. Nick soon finds himself moving in these circles as well, since he is supposed to help Gatsby rekindle his relationship with Daisy, who is Nick’s cousin and Gatsby’s great love from his youth. But she is now married to Tom Buchanan, a wealthy millionaire from the Midwest. He is determined to prevent Daisy from choosing the inscrutable Gatsby at all costs. After a confrontation, a fateful accident occurs that changes everything.

F. Scott Fitzgerald’s (1896–1940) THE GREAT GATSBY, a modernist masterpiece, tells of glitz and glamour, economic crises, and social intrigues. Author and composer Claus Martin catapults the audience back to the Roaring Twenties with his adaptation and lively songs.
