The premises of BBS I Leer (Emsschule) will once again be packed to the brim with antiques, rarities, and all sorts of curiosities on Saturday, October 3, on German Unity Day once again be packed to the brim with antiques, rarities, and all sorts of curiosities. Visitors and lovers of vintage items will be taken on a journey through time and can look forward to seeing what the approximately 70 dealers and collectors have found, restored, and brought along.
In addition to beautiful antiques, valuable or rare design pieces will also be on display. This new section of the antique market was very well received by visitors at recent events.
Antique dealers are traveling from all over Germany and the Netherlands to present their pieces and treasures from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Visitors will haggle, talk shop, marvel at the items, and learn about the curiosities on display. After all, with many of these objects, it’s hard to guess what they are or what they were used for. Today, these items are once again held in high regard and serve as decorations in people’s homes. The wonderful world of antiques has been experiencing a renaissance for some time now. Young people today are once again eager to incorporate old vintage-style cabinets, country-style porcelain, and bed and table linens with hand-crafted lace into their homes.
There’s also a clear trend toward small pieces of furniture, clocks, and household items showing signs of wear, ornate jewelry with pearls and gemstones, richly decorated silverware, and curious mechanical objects from days gone by. Elaborate prints and engravings, beautiful paintings, and old books, manuscripts, and enamelware—such items now adorn both modern and classic apartments and homes, and their true value is once again being appreciated.
The variety of antiques on display will surprise visitors, and haggling is encouraged. Once that special piece is finally purchased, it is rarely parted with again. Why? Because it is beautiful, and the buyer has already lost their heart to it.
For short breaks to reflect and relax, a renowned restaurant offers a wide selection of hot and cold dishes, hearty and freshly cooked meals, and beverages.
