Das Wattenmeer Fly-In-Restaurant
As the tide comes in, we’ll join you on an excursion along the south beach to observe the birds on and in the mudflats.
How much do you think the birds need to eat? These and many other questions will be answered during this excursion to the “Fly-In-Restaurant Wattenmeer.”
The Wadden Sea offers an enormous food supply for millions of migratory birds, which stop here twice a year for several weeks to feed. They need the energy they consume for their long and arduous journeys, which sometimes take them from their breeding grounds in the Arctic all the way to their wintering grounds in South Africa.
Birds both large and small manage to obtain food in a wide variety of ways using their beaks. How much do they need to eat, and how do they crack the hard mussel shells? These and many other questions will be answered during this excursion to the “Fly-In-Restaurant Wattenmeer.”
- Unfortunately, strollers, walkers, etc., cannot be taken to the South Beach.
- A mudflat vehicle for wheelchair users is available. Please note this when registering if needed.
