8. Hamelner Rattenrennen
As part of this major event, swimming rats will start at 11 a.m. in the first race. Further individual races, spread throughout the day and sponsored by local companies, will provide the framework for the Hameln Rat Race. After a course of a few hundred meters, the rats will be collected by volunteer helpers at the finish line and their placements will be recorded. The finish of the racing rats will be broadcasted using video technology onto a large LED wall at the Werder festival grounds, where the respective awards will also take place.
The net proceeds from the event will benefit the youth work of local clubs and organizations.
Environmental concerns are also taken into account. No rat will be able to escape our watchful eyes and make its way to the North Sea over the Weser.
Many great prizes for young and old await you, and numerous snack stands and activity games invite you to linger.

New wooden rat: 5 euros
Uncolored plastic rat: 6 euros
Colored plastic models: 7.50 euros
WARNING: Rats from previous years are also allowed to race!
Requirement: Purchase of a start number (for 4 euros) and attachment to the corresponding rat on the event day License (master data)
