Wilhelmshaven's south coast is the hotspot for porpoise watching on the North Sea coast of Lower Saxony. In spring, when the small whales come into the Jade Bay, they offer a unique natural spectacle. Anyone who has ever been able to observe these marine mammals in the wild will never forget this fascinating encounter. To make this experience accessible to as many people as possible, the annual Wilhelmshaven Harbour Porpoise Days were launched in 2017.
From 17 to 27 April 2025, visitors can look forward to a varied program of nature experience events and activities relating to Germany's only native whale species.
