Nationalpark-Haus Dangast

National park info centre
Between Geest and mudflats in the artists' village.

What we are: The Dangast National Park House is a national park visitor facility for the whole family with a 500 m² adventure exhibition about the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park and the Jade Bay in particular. Various seawater aquariums, a seal bank & bird salt meadow, a children's area, a well-stocked store and much more are included. We are open every day except Mondays, including weekends and public holidays.

Changing special themes make a visit worthwhile again and again. One of our permanent special exhibitions shows what is actually done when a large oil tanker or container ship is in distress in the North Sea. Which ship can still tow such a colossus even in hurricane force winds? What monitoring options are there?

The team also runs a large program of events in Dangast:
- The "What's living in the mudflats?" guided tours in Dangast,
- the "Watt für Kinder" I - III hands-on tours for children in Dangast,
- a large program of school events,
- the "Marine Conservation Learning Lab" for school classes,
- educational leave seminars for employees and private individuals
and much more.
