The old heath village of Wilsede is located in the middle of the Lüneburg Heath nature reserve. There you will find the old heath museum "Dat ole Huus", which provides a true-to-life insight into life on a heath farm around 1850. There is no chimney here, cooking was done over an open fire. People and animals shared a roof. Learn the origin of expressions such as "drudgery" or "to put on a tooth". Admission also includes a visit to the Emhoff sheepfold with changing exhibitions on the Lüneburg Heath. The museum is run by the VNP Foundation Nature Conservation Park Lüneburg Heath.
Wilsede is a small village with only 40 inhabitants in the middle of the nature reserve, which can only be reached by carriage, bicycle, on foot or on horseback from Ober-/ Niederhaverbeck.
