Bells and figures
The tower of the historic town hall houses the bell and figurine display donated by the Kivelings.

Every three years at Whitsun, on the occasion of the Kivelingsfest, the Kivelings present the citizens of the town of Lingen (Ems) with a gift. In 1952, it was the carillon for the historic town hall.
The chimes were actually made for the small town of Niederbreidenbach in the Bergisches Land region. Robert Ley, then head of the German Labor Front in the Third Reich, had them cast for his birthplace. During the turmoil of the war years, they were brought to safety by hiding them in the Deiter company in Essen. In a roundabout way, the Lingen Kivelinge heard about the bells and decided to acquire them after some financial expenditure. The system was then installed by the renowned bell-making company Ed. Korfhage&Söhne from Melle-Buer for the Bürgersöhneaufzug in 1952.
In the summer of 2015, the HEH Essmann Foundation donated eight new bells to the town for the historic town hall. This expanded the playing options from five to 40 different major and minor keys. The specialist company Ed. Korfhage & Söhne from Melle once again took care of the professional installation and technical equipment.

The 20 bells now in place have a total weight of 819 kg. The largest of the bells, which also strikes the hour, weighs 137 kg with a diameter of 62 cm and a height of 52 cm, while the smallest weighs 7 kg with a diameter of 22 cm and a height of 20 cm.

Carillon

A carillon of the Kivelinge was added to this carillon at Pentecost 2002 - 50 years later. It features the drummer, the Kiveling King and Queen, the commander, the mayor, the flag bearer, the citizen's daughter and the Kiveling.

The puppet show appears daily at 12:00, 15:00 and 18:00.
