Evangelisches Damenstift Kloster Walsrode

Monastery
Historical building

In the middle of the small, lively moorland town of Walsrode, a large area is surrounded by a brick wall.

Visitors enter through the wrought-iron gate and are surprised by the silence and space that surrounds them right next to the noisy thoroughfare. The well-kept 18th century estate exudes a special atmosphere: Peace and security in the middle of the city, a place to pause for a moment in a region that otherwise offers visitors mainly entertainment and distraction.
