Bronzezeithof Uelsen

Welcome to the Bronze Age farm in Uelsen, a place full of history and living archaeology. Here, not far from the source of the Linnenbach stream and surrounded by tall trees and shrubs, you can immerse yourself in the world of our ancestors more than 100 generations ago.

The Bronze Age farm is part of an impressive project that was created in close cooperation with the municipality of Uelsen, the Lower Saxony State Office for the Preservation of Monuments and many other partners. Together, a prehistoric farmstead was reconstructed, offering insights into the life of Bronze Age people on the Riedberg.

Visitors of all ages are welcome to take part in the numerous events that take place throughout the year. From the Uels Bronze Age Days to the Festival of Living Archaeology, there is plenty to discover and experience. Craftsmen and artists demonstrate their skills, weaving, wool dyeing, bronze casting and music with traditional instruments such as the lyre.

The permanent exhibition in the Blekkers Hofcafé presents archaeological finds such as ceramics and tools as well as informative panels and film presentations on the Bronze Age in Uelsen and the surrounding area. Here, visitors can learn more about the living conditions and culture of early Bronze Age people.

On the opening days of the Bronze Age farm, you have the opportunity to experience authentic work and activities. From April to October, the farm is open every Sunday from 1 to 5 pm, while in July and August visitors are also welcome from Wednesday to Saturday. Guided tours are possible at any time.
