It is not without reason that the small village of Gildehaus was awarded the title "Pearl of the County". After just a short tour of the village, visitors from out of town will have gained a pleasant impression and agree with the attribute. Is it, especially in good weather, the unique view from the Mühlenberg far out into the Westphalian countryside, across the nature reserve "Gildehauser Venn" into the neighboring Holland or the unobstructed view to the north into the county that distinguishes the favorable and special location? Probably also the centuries-old history, steeped in tradition and handed down through documents and architectural monuments.
