A wide variety of fruit specialties featuring blueberries.

From May through September, everything in Brokeloh on the Middle Weser revolves around the “Big Blues.” Every year in late summer, large quantities of bickbeeren—or blueberries—ripen all around the village, which has a population of about 350.

This is the perfect time to visit the Herse family’s farm café. The café can seat up to 300 guests and is located right on the edge of the plantations. From there, guests have a view of the surrounding plantations.

Not only can you pick the berries yourself there, but you can also enjoy various blueberry dishes, including cakes, waffles, potato pancakes, yeast dumplings, salads, ice cream, and currywurst.

The adjoining farm store sells a variety of blueberry products, such as blueberry ketchup, gin, brandy, jam, and salad dressing.
