A street full of history

Tiedexer Straße

Tiedexer Straße is the heart of Einbeck’s half-timbered heritage. With its magnificently adorned timber-framed houses, some dating back to the 16th century, it is a prime example of northern German craftsmanship.

The Brodhaus in Einbeck is living history. As one of the oldest restaurants in Niedersachsen, it continues to welcome diners to enjoy culinary delights in a historical atmosphere.

A masterpiece

Eickesches Haus

In the heart of Einbeck’s old town lies a unique treasure of craftsmanship: the Eickesche House. Its façade, adorned with 100 heads and masks, is a striking 400-year old example of late Renaissance half-timbered artistry. The 42 wooden panels vividly depict themes of education and faith, making it a true masterpiece.

The cradle of bock beer

Einbeck’s beer culture

For over 700 years, the town has been brewing its famous Ainpöckisch Bier, known far beyond the region’s borders. Once hailed as the finest beer in the medieval world, even Martin Luther was a fan, declaring ‘The best drink known to humankind is Einbeck beer.’ To this day, the original recipe lives on in Urbock beer. With over 700 breweries shaping its history, Einbeck’s brewing tradition is a cornerstone of this half-timbered town’s identity.
