The Pilsum Lighthouse is located at an internationally significant stopover site for migratory birds and serves as an excellent bird-watching station during the 18th Migratory Bird Days—supported by ZEISS.

The small red-and-yellow-striped lighthouse, the landmark of the municipality of Krummhörn, stands at a resting place of international importance for migratory birds. During the 18th Migratory Bird Days, you can spend six days getting an overview of the migratory activity around the lighthouse while learning interesting facts about bird migration, the national park, and the Leybucht. Experts from the National Park Administration and the East Frisian Ornithological Association will be on hand with high-quality binoculars. They’ll show you which birds are currently visible and provide you with interesting background information on bird migration.
