Wochenmarkt in Bad Zwischenahn
Every Saturday, the traditional weekly market takes place in front of Bad Zwischenahn town hall, attracting locals and tourists alike with a diverse range of regional produce. Visitors can choose from a wide selection of fresh fruit and vegetables directly from the producers. Regional farmers offer their produce, from crunchy apples to aromatic herbs and seasonal vegetables. Seasonal vegetables are particularly popular: asparagus in spring, kale in winter and deliciously juicy berries in summer! Meat and sausage products, cheese, eggs and dairy products also often come from local farms. Local specialties are a particular highlight: Fresh fish from the Zwischenahner Meer, handmade jams, honey from beekeepers and homemade baked goods are very popular. Flowers and plants for the home and garden are also an integral part of the market. It's definitely worth a visit!
The weekly market is not just a place to shop, but also a popular meeting place: people come here to chat, exchange recipes and enjoy personal advice from the traders Sustainability is a top priority here! Many of the vendors rely on environmentally friendly packaging and short transportation routes.
Please note that the weekly market does not usually take place on public holidays. This also applies to major events that take place on the market square and make it necessary to relocate the weekly market to the parking lot at the bathing park.
