LEER - Historic Old Town and its "Wiehnachtsmarkt achter d'Waag"
Traditionally, this wonderful Christmas market takes place on the four Sundays in Advent
The market, which stretches from the Museum Harbour to Garrel's Garden, is open from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. With great attention to detail, the volunteer members have built 23 little houses modeled on the gables of the old town.
Tiffany from their own handiwork, embroidered, felted, recycled jewelry, sweets and so much more can be admired here.
Here people come together to open up to what Christmas is all about away from the hustle and bustle, the shopping hustle and stress: singing together with the Christmas choirs, anticipation and family get-togethers.
Food and drink will also be provided with rullerkes, baked apples, Christmas cookies, poffertjes, waffles from the scout children, bacon thickets, mulled wine, fire tongs punch, punch and much more.
