On 26 and 27 September (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) it's that time again: against the impressive backdrop of Walkenried Monastery, religious communities from all over Germany and other European countries offer a colorful range of products from monastic workshops, kitchens, cellars and gardens!
You can look forward to handicrafts and organic products, beer, spirits, jewelry, soaps, ceramics, music, culinary delights and much more. The Walkenried Monastery Market is a feast for body and soul and a forum for encounters and exchange of ideas between monastic market stall holders and guests.
The entrance fee is €7 (children up to the age of 16 are admitted free of charge). A combined ticket is also available for €10, which gives you admission on both days. A varied supporting program, children's activities and a visit to the Cistercian Museum Walkenried Monastery are included in the admission price.
In addition, the special blue stamp box of the Harz monasteries at Walkenried Monastery is available for hiking enthusiasts and stamp fans during the monastery market weekend. Access to the stamp box is only possible during the Klostermarkt from 10 am to 6 pm and with a valid Klostermarkt admission ticket.
The monastery market can be reached by car and public transport. The official visitor parking spaces are signposted in the town.
