Vortrag und Film: Vor dem Vergessen bewahren
Take a journey back to the period around 1945, when some 3,300 displaced persons found a new home in Winsen (Luhe).
Two years ago, the Museum im Marstall launched a research and film project that gives these people a voice and tells the story of their arrival and life in their “new home.” The project resulted in a documentary film and a short film. Now, for the first time, the museum is presenting the resulting short film “Preserving from Oblivion: The Arrival of Displaced Persons in Winsen.”
The film will be screened together in the Schlossbergers’ Heimatstube. Afterward, filmmaker and ethnologist Gábor Henry Raschberger will provide insights into the project and the making of the film, and invite participants to discuss memories, the data collection process, and how these personal stories are shared. This is an opportunity to look back together, listen, and keep an important chapter of German and Winsen history alive.
Admission is 5 € for adults. Children under 18 and members of the Local History and Museum Association are admitted free of charge.
The lecture will take place at the Heimatstube, Rote-Kreuz-Straße 6 in Winsen (Luhe).
Unfortunately, the venue is not wheelchair accessible.
