Heath, history & moonlight: guided hike from Niederhaverbeck

Starting from Niederhaverbeck, the hike leads through a royal ban forest along the Niederhaverbeck Heath. The tour on the award-winning hiking trail is accompanied by experienced tour guides.

The route passes a late medieval ring wall and reaches the confluence of the Haverbeeke and Wümme rivers. From there it goes "uphill" to the Suhorn. A wonderful view of the Wümme valley opens up at the Alfred Toepfer memorial stone. A short break is planned here, where you can enjoy delicacies from the heath region. With a bit of luck, the full moon will accompany the hike from here.

Along the way, participants will learn interesting facts about the Lüneburg Heath cultural landscape: stories about a heath original called "Wümm-Mudder", about the work of Alfred Toepfer and the formation and special features of the heath landscape. In the moonlight night, the trail leads back to Niederhaverbeck via the Heidschnuckenweg.

Please remember to wear good shoes and clothing suitable for the weather.
