Vollmondkonzert - saxyarpa
Alberto Sanchez - harp; Johannes Köppen - saxophone; Manuel Beutke - cajón and small percussion
Alberto Sanchez from Paraguay is an exceptional talent on his harp! Every audience is surprised, because no one expects this kind of performance from a harp. Rhythmic, harmonious, and melodious, Alberto draws on a wealth of inspiration
Full of energy and passion, Alberto is able to replace an entire rhythm section with his harp. Alberto Sanchez is the winner of the Folklore Oscar, a member of the band “Gleis 8” led by Rosenstolz singer Anna R., and recorded the harp tracks for Peter Maffay’s album *Tabaluga* in the studio. Johannes Köppen studied flute and composition and, even while still a student, played as a saxophonist in jazz bands. He has performed in numerous concerts with Ken Norris and Bridget Fogle. Johannes is a member of Lotto-King-Karl’s band and has shared the stage with Roger Chapman. Manuel Beutke plays percussion and has been part of the band since early 2020. As a drummer, Manuel is at home in punk; as a percussionist, he is in high demand with flamenco bands . Saxyarpa benefits from Manuel’s dynamic and versatile playing. When these three musicians come together, magic happens: From these apparent contrasts—soul, pop, folk, flamenco, and jazz—a unique, unmistakable sound emerges. Whether Saxyarpa plays its own songs or interprets other people’s compositions, with their shared passion and love they create something entirely new: music full of beauty and life—music you may know, but have never heard like this before.
