Tradition bis Moderne XIV - Quilts 2026

Special exhibition
The exhibition “Tradition to Modernity XIV” at the Steinhude Museums is truly fascinating. Here, traditional craftsmanship blends with modern quilting art.
From May 25 to August 15, 2026, the Steinhuder Museums will present the exhibition “Tradition to Modernity XIV – Quilts 2026.” The Patchwork Gilde Deutschland e.V. will showcase a selection of contemporary quilts from all over Germany that combine traditional techniques with modern design.

The exhibition showcases the wide range of contemporary quilt art and has been a major crowd-pleaser in the museum’s program for years.

The exhibition will open on May 24, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. A highlight of the opening reception will be a live presentation of Michaela Garche’s weaving art.

A full-color catalog will be published to accompany the exhibition.
