The fact that TORFROCK are still touring stages and festivals after almost five decades with unbroken enthusiasm, North German stubbornness and a great sense of humor is anything but a matter of course. Consistency, authenticity and a loyal fan base have made the band what it is today: a strong piece of northern Germany. In 2026, in addition to numerous individual concerts and festival appearances, there will once again be a number of fixed events on the calendar - above all the 35th Bagaluten-Wiehnacht, which has long since achieved cult status. At the same time, the musical course is already set for the big stage anniversary in 2027: with 49 years of live experience, fresh, powerful arrangements of the unmistakable classics and the typical peat rock humor that still reliably makes musical waves in the pudding. The current line-up combines past and present: Klaus Büchner as the defining voice and co-founder, together with Volker Schmidt, Stefan Lehmann and Sven Berger. Together they give the tried-and-tested Torfrock sound a contemporary groovy oomph without losing sight of its roots. The fictional microcosm surrounding Torfmoorholm, Haithabu, Vikings, Wernersens and all the lovable, drink-loving characters lives on - on stage, in the audience and in every line of utility rock. Timeless lyrics, peaty rock-folk-blues-punk-boogie and North German serenity ensure that TORFROCK concerts will remain one thing above all else in 2026: a big, peaceful and cheerful peat rock party for all generations. 49 years are just the beginning.
