TiefBlechKiel – Awesome Brass!
What actually happens when four trombones and a tuba embark on a musical journey through time together?
With TiefBlechKiel, five low-register brass instruments come together to form an astonishingly versatile ensemble: powerful and warm, sometimes surprisingly delicate, and always with a sound all its own. Since 2018, the five musicians from Schleswig-Holstein have been playing together—performing original compositions and arrangements that span a range from the Renaissance to pop and jazz.
For their matinee in the Kammersaal, they’ve brought a special format with them: this isn’t just about listening. The musicians take their audience behind the scenes of the music. They talk about their instruments, special compositions and arrangements, musical discoveries, and what actually happens when four trombones and a tuba play together.
With a relaxed, entertaining atmosphere and plenty of music, the concert becomes a mini musical journey of discovery. And because pictures sometimes say more than words, the musicians can further illustrate their stories and explanations with images and small projections on the screen.
TiefBlechKiel—that’s “deep brass” with a completely different twist: five musicians, five instruments, and several centuries of music history—from the Renaissance to pop and jazz.
And afterward?
The matinee isn’t meant to end with the final note. Together with the brass community in and around Einbeck, we’re currently considering which special “good cause” could be supported with the proceeds from the concert. Perhaps this will even lead to a new opportunity for brass players in our region.
Brass players from Einbeck and the surrounding area are therefore warmly invited to get involved: What idea do you think is missing? What could we put together as a group?
TiefBlechKiel – Awesome Brass!
A matinee to listen to, marvel at, understand, and join in.
