For over 24 years, Roland Jankowsky has been playing the somewhat special Commissioner Overbeck in the popular ZDF crime series Wilsberg. There he enjoys playing the cool cop, but tends to stumble from one faux pas to the next. Nevertheless, his role has now achieved cult status. Two years ago, television viewers voted him the “Coolest TV Commissioner in Germany 2018.”
Roland Jankowsky, the actor behind Overbeck, has been very successfully touring with his crime readings for ten years, in addition to filming. Here, it’s less about faux pas and more often about corpses lining his path.
In now six programs, Jankowsky always reads short stories by various authors, characterized by surprising twists, wit, and grotesque situations that end unexpectedly. Jankowsky is an excellent storyteller.
