Sonderausstellung: Vom Pferdewagen bis zur E-Mobilität

Special exhibition
We still walk today—but the invention of the wheel opened up entirely new possibilities and perspectives for humanity.
How has mobility changed over time—and what will it look like in the future? The new special exhibition “From Horse-Drawn Carriages to E-Mobility” at the Museum im Marstall invites visitors to explore precisely these questions.

The exhibition covers a wide range of topics, from historic modes of transportation such as horse-drawn carriages, steamboats, and trains to modern concepts like car-sharing and e-mobility. The focus is on both personal experiences and technical developments. Interactive stations and hands-on activities encourage reflection and open up exciting perspectives on the mobility of tomorrow.

There is a special focus on the region: Among other things, early transportation connections around Winsen, steamboat travel on the Elbe, and surprising facts about the history of the bicycle are vividly presented.

You can find more information on the museum’s website.
The exhibition was awarded the 2026 Kultursommer Prize.
