Sonderausstellung „Judentum ist für mich ein täglicher Workshop" – 12 Perspektiven jüdischen Lebens aus Norddeutschland“

Exhibition
Other visit / guided tour

The photo exhibition “For Me, Judaism Is a Daily Workshop—12 Perspectives on Jewish Life in Northern Germany,” created in collaboration with Bremen-based photographer Kay Michalak, showcases contemporary Jewish life.

Twelve Jewish women and men from the region were portrayed, and they share their own stories. These are people who live, work, and call the Leer district, Oldenburg, Bremen, Bremerhaven, Hamburg, and Hechthausen home.
Not everyone we approached wanted to go public. They had reservations, expressed unease, and were afraid because they clearly felt the upheaval in their daily lives following October 7, 2023. They did not want their photos and names to appear in the exhibition.

This photo exhibition offers an opportunity to encounter new perspectives on Jewish life today.
The exhibition was sponsored by the
Federal Ministry of Education, Family, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth
as part of the federal program “Demokratie leben.”

THE EXHIBITION IS OPEN ONLY ON SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS DURING SUMMER VACATION.
