Have you always wanted to visit the sandbar off Neßmersiel and watch dozens of seals? On this 4.5-kilometer tour through the mudflats, you’ll hike with experienced national park guides across firm sandy mudflats and through silty mudflats. Along the way, you’ll learn interesting facts about the seals’ lives and their habitat. With a little luck, we might even spot some pups! The seal population is stabilizing thanks to the protection provided by the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park.&

Using spotting scopes and binoculars, we observe the animals from a distance of about 350 meters—a respectful distance that allows us to get close without disturbing them. Often, curiosity gets the better of them, and a young seal might even venture very close to the group.
Immerse yourself in a true European wilderness—with wet sand beneath your feet, salty air in your nose, and seals before your eyes. An experience you’ll never forget—for young and old alike.
