Salz- und Lichterfest 2026
Look forward to an exciting weekend full of music, new encounters, culinary delights, and a festive atmosphere right in the heart of downtown.
The festival weekend kicks off on Friday, August 21, with the Open Air Summernight. In addition, a French market awaits you from August 21 to 23, a flea market on August 22 and 23, and a Sunday shopping day on Sunday, August 23.
A special highlight is the “Sea of Lights” in the city park: as dusk falls, impressive light installations transform trees, paths, and meadows into a magical setting. At 10:22 p.m., a spectacular fireworks display will cap off the festivities. For the first time, you can also experience this special atmosphere from high above on the Ferris wheel.
There’s plenty going on musically, too: at various squares and stages, acts including DJ Spur, GoGorillas, Rockbusters, Michael Leser, MANIAX, Powerbrass, and the samba group BARABAN will provide entertainment throughout the city. For food and drink, you’ll find traditional festival specialties on the food street in Rudolf-Huch-Straße—from potato pancakes to grilled delicacies and hand-baked bread to sweet treats.
Come on by, enjoy the special atmosphere, and experience an unforgettable festival weekend in Bad Harzburg.
