  • In 2027, we will celebrate the “900th Anniversary of Walkenried Monastery” during the festive month of June with an impressive night of music. The great medieval-inspired band “Corvus Corax”—the Kings of the Minstrels — will take center stage, transforming the square in front of the monastery into a lively, rustic stage. Look forward to drums, bagpipes, shawms, powerful voices, and archaic rhythms—a captivating encounter between history and music that seems to come straight from another era. About the band:
Corvus Corax combine driving rhythms, traditional melodies, and the sounds of days gone by. How do you top 35 years of performing history? By living it, celebrating it—and continuing to write the next chapter. Corvus Corax, the undisputed kings of minstrels, will once again impressively prove in 2026 that their journey is far from over. Whether at medieval markets, churches, or major rock festivals: The kings of minstrels are in demand worldwide—in Europe as well as in China, Mexico, the U.S., Canada, Brazil, and many more. With boundless enthusiasm, an arsenal of historical instruments, and a set filled with legendary anthems and new, unreleased compositions, they ignite a sonic fireworks display that blurs the boundaries between the Middle Ages, mysticism, and modern stage performance. Whether it’s dance songs, drinking songs, Celtic soundscapes, or epic soundscapes—Corvus Corax don’t just play music. They create a rousing live experience that touches the heart, the legs, and the mind in equal measure. And in 2026, the band will once again surprise audiences with fresh songs currently being recorded in the studio—wild, raw, and full of energy. Corvus Corax play Corvus Corax. The name isn’t just a tagline—it’s a promise.

We’re looking forward to an impressive, medieval-inspired night of music with Corvus Corax, taking Walkenried on a journey through 900 years of history!
