Öffentliche Drehortführung "Schwarzes Gold hautnah"
"Black Gold" Up Close
Following in the Footsteps of the ARD Series at the Museum Village
Following the successful premiere of the new filming location tour, here’s your next chance to take part in this new interactive tour.
Original filming locations, movie scenes, props you can touch, and exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpses await you!
Where did Harriet Herbig-Matten stand as Johanna Lambert? Where did Tom Wlaschiha film his scenes as the “villain” Wilhelm Pape? And how was the historic Hösseringen Museum Village transformed into the world of the oil boom around 1900? You’ll find the answers to these questions on Sunday during the new themed tour “Black Gold Up Close—The Filming Locations Tour.”
The popular 1.5-hour interactive tour begins at 12:30 p.m. in the Hösseringen Museum Village. The tour takes visitors right into the world of the hit ARD series “Black Gold,” which was largely filmed in the museum village in 2025. At that time, six historic buildings were transformed into film sets—and that’s exactly where the tour takes you.
At the original filming locations, scenes from the series, photos, and film props are on display, bringing the TV experience to life in a truly impressive way. The tour also features exciting stories about the filming process and behind-the-scenes insights not shown in the finished series. Anyone who has seen the series can experience their very own “Aha!” moments: This is where Johanna stood when she discovered the burning sheep barn. That’s where Aaron Hilmer, playing Richard Pape, conducted his first test drilling for oil. And before you know it, you’ll find yourself standing in the faithfully recreated film set of the Landgasthof Lenz, where visitors to the museum village have been able to admire the new “Schwarze Gold” exhibition since September.
Through the clever interweaving of filming locations and movie scenes, a visit to the museum becomes an encounter between film and reality. You stand at the original locations, suddenly see the familiar setting with new eyes, and can perhaps imagine for a moment what it must have been like when actors, camera crews, and around 80 film crew members transformed the museum village into a film set.
And “Black Gold” remains exciting for the future as well, because the story continues. In June, NDR officially confirmed that a second season is already in development. The new episodes will continue the story of Johanna and Richard.
The new themed tour thus offers the opportunity to rediscover the locations from the first season in a whole new light—before the story continues on screen.
The cost to participate in the public tour is:
5 euros for adults
2.50 for teens ages 14 to 18
Children participate for free.
No registration is required.
