The Ockermarkt has been held on the third weekend in October in Hilter a.T.W. since 1997. The market is characterized by two stages with a varied programme of music, dance and comedy, a huge flea market in the town center and the "Ockermeile" (Bielefelder Str.) with stalls of all kinds. True to the motto "something for everyone", local clubs, associations and other institutions ensure a colorful market event. In recent years, the number of participants and visitors (more than 20,000) has risen steadily, making the Ockermarkt a flagship event for the municipality of Hilter, its businesses, clubs and residents.
