...this is how the new year can begin

Being part of the traditional New Year's hike on the Heidschnuckenweg on the first day of the year is something very special.

The trail leads over the "Schoolstieg" and a historic granite bridge to the "Hogewilse". The view into what may be a wintry heath valley is a highlight at the beginning of the year. Junipers line the path over further "mountain heights" towards the starting point.

Our tour guides Helga Müller and Manfred Loos will accompany you on the approximately 3.5-hour tour (9.5 km) and provide exciting insights into the history of the heathland. Please remember to wear sturdy, warm shoes and clothing suitable for the weather.
