The heath itself is already a mysterious place. But there’s hardly a better time to experience the magic of the Ellerndorf Juniper Heath than on a full moon night. Juniper bushes and beech trees are barely visible as shadowy silhouettes in the darkness, and that’s precisely why the seemingly endless expanse of the landscape is so impressive. Covering an area of nearly 70 hectares, the Ellerndorfer Juniper Heath is the largest contiguous heathland area in the eastern Lüneburg Heath. We invite you to join us on a special walking tour through the heath, juniper, and beech trees.
