Minikreuzfahrt und zu Fuß das Alte Land entdecken!
Our trip starts on Thursday at 10:10 AM at the parking lot of the holiday residence “Am Elbufer”. We walk along the dyke to the Lühe pier where we board the LüheSchulau ferry.
Adorned with sailor's yarn, we sail across the Elbe to Schleswig-Holstein in about 20 minutes. Hear exciting stories about the Elbe, dykes, and storm surges. Once we arrive in Wedel, we head to the ship welcoming facility. There you will learn all about the tradition of welcoming and bidding farewell to ships. On time at 11:40 AM, our ferry brings us back to Lower Saxony.
During the crossing, you will learn a lot about shipping on the Elbe and hear something about the remnants of Operation Gomorrah in Hamburg. Back at the Lühe pier, we strengthen ourselves with an “Altländer Rundstück”. In the “Alte Land”, the largest fruit-growing area in Northern Europe, our guide will accompany you to some typical highlights of our beautiful region. Rivers – architecture and endless fruit plantations shape this unique area between Hamburg and Stade. We will show you some of this. A walk with a special experiential factor gives you a small insight into the unique “Alte Land”.
History and stories make you crave for more.
In about 1.5 hours you will experience a particularly beautiful listed farm directly by the dyke (from the outside), a flood protection facility, the “Hessbögel” (Lühe), and a typical fruit plantation.
Our trip ends around 2:00 PM at the holiday residence.
