Thursday, June 04 - Official festival start
The festival really gets going on Thursday from 6 pm to 11 pm. Mayor Claudia Kalisch will officially open the festival at 7.30 pm on the Market Stage.

• Liebesgrund: The traditional VfL play festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with games, fun and lots of activities for children
• Marketplace: The "Inclusion and Diversity" campaign day promotes accessibility and numerous Lüneburg volunteer organizations present themselves on the Initiative Street
• City center: Experience Sunday - sales open from 1 to 6 p.m.

On Sunday between 1 and 6 p.m., retailers will be opening their doors and gates for the Sunday Experience, while lively music fills the streets in the background. Another highlight on Sunday is the Initiatives Street on the market square, where numerous institutions and organizations from Lüneburg present their social and voluntary work. In addition, the "Inclusion and Diversity" day of action draws attention to the barriers in life and promotes the active removal of these barriers - for a barrier-free life for all.
Traditionally, the VfL Play Festival on Sunday in the Liebesgrund also delights with games, fun and activities for the whole family.
The festival also has plenty of culinary delights to offer: Numerous food and drink stands invite you to sample the diverse gastronomy of the city and the world and enjoy the weekend to the full.
With 7 stages and almost 50 acts, "Lüneburg celebrates" 2026 offers the right program for every taste in music and every age. From energetic live concerts and relaxed sounds to sports, family activities and culinary highlights, there is something for everyone.
