Klima- und Naturschutz na klar – aber ohne Einschränkungen und Verbote (Wandelwoche Lüneburg 2026)

How much freedom does change require—and how much regulation?

Do we need free markets, as little regulation as possible, and individual freedom of choice to protect the climate and nature? Or do we need more rules and binding guidelines—for companies, institutions, and even our own decisions?

These questions touch on fundamental ideas about how social change can succeed. In an interactive debate, we want to highlight different perspectives and discuss together which paths can lead to a sustainable future.

We’ll be following the format of the ARD show “Die Hundert – Was Deutschland bewegt”: Many voices will be heard, arguments will be exchanged, and participants are invited to share their own views.

Everyone is warmly invited to join the discussion, listen, and work together to develop new perspectives on the challenges of our time.

The Lüneburg Transformation Week will take place from October 30 to November 8, 2026.
A good life for everyone is possible—if we engage in dialogue, share ideas, learn about different perspectives, and work together to find solutions.
 
Through >50 events organized by >60 Lüneburg-based initiatives, the Transformation Week showcases what’s already happening in Lüneburg, encourages people to get involved, and creates spaces for connection, exchange, and collaborative experimentation. It addresses the big questions of our time: climate and sustainability, democracy, housing and mobility, social justice and diversity—and always includes how we talk about and debate these issues with one another.
 
How can we engage with one another respectfully and as equals? How do we keep the conversation going, even when we disagree? And how can we work together to shape a future worth living?
 
Transformation Week invites you to explore exactly that.
