Since 1964, Meißendorf has been hosting the only heather blossom festival in the Celle region.
It is a festival for the entire town and, over the past 50 years, has grown into an event of supraregional significance. The Meißendorf Heath Queen represents and promotes the town, the municipality, and the district at numerous events and visits.

Schedule:

Friday:
8:00 p.m. Start
9:00 p.m. Election of the new royalty
Dancing until the early morning
10:30 p.m. Announcement of the new royalty

Saturday:
2:00 p.m. Opening ceremony by the Meißendorf Fanfare Band
Children’s afternoon with games, fun, and face painting
Large coffee and pastries spread in the festival tent
Election of the new children’s royalty
Announcement of the children’s royalty at approx. 5:15 p.m.
Starting at 8:00 p.m.: Marquee party and dancing until dawn

Sunday
10:00 a.m.: Heidemarkt on the banks of the Meiße
12:00 p.m.: Gathering for the traditional grand parade
12:30 a.m. Festival parade
2:00 p.m. Coronation of the new Meißendorf Heath Royalty on the banks of the Meiße at the festival grounds
Large coffee and pastries spread in the festival tent & village community center
2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.: The Meißendorf Shanty Choir provides musical entertainment in the festival tent
3:00 p.m.: Folk dancing in the festival tent
approx. 3:30 p.m.: Fanfare band festival in the festival tent
