Hallo Grünkohl
When the scent of kale wafts through the streets in November and people gather at Oldenburg’s Rathausmarkt to enjoy it together, the new kale season in the Northwest kicks off with “Hallo Grünkohl.”
Visitors can sample this iconic vegetable in all its variations, whether prepared classically with Pinkel sausage or creatively reimagined by regional culinary professionals. “Hallo Grünkohl” is more than just a food festival—it’s a cultural highlight that combines music, hands-on activities, delicious specialties, and North German hospitality.
To mark the start of the season, Oldenburg will hold a Sunday shopping event. Stores in the city center will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
