Finale

An overture | Mask theater of the Flöz family
With "Finale", the company dares to look back and forward at the same time. In their latest piece, the creative process itself becomes the stage: Where do the characters come from? How is meaning created without words? And what happens between performers and viewers?

Three small, touching universes emerge out of nowhere - connected by a mysterious narrator: a late-night shop owner fights devotedly for his customers - until his own past catches up with him. A son loses his footing when his mother falls seriously ill. A young woman seeks solitude in the forest - and finds more than just peace with nature. Three life stories on the threshold of change. Tragicomic. Poetic. Abysmal.

What began as a small experiment became a celebrated theatrical journey around the world. The Flöz family has revolutionized the art of the mask - and for decades has been telling wordless yet deeply moving stories about life, its fractures and its beauty.

"Finale" is a tribute - to the mask, to the theater and to the audience.
