On Saturday, June 27, 5 p.m., the "Festival aufm Platz" will be playing on the market square in Quakenbrück:

Im Feuer
Fahrenheit 451
Vision String Quartet (music)
Dietmar Wunder (reading)

In a world where reading is outlawed and knowledge is undesirable, Guy Montag works as a fireman. But his job is not to put out fires, but to burn books.

With "Fahrenheit 451", Ray Bradbury created a dystopian novel in 1953 that is more relevant today than ever. At the same time, the book is a tribute to free will, to the power of thought and language. Narrator Dietmar Wunder, known among other things as the voice of Daniel Craig in the James Bond films, will read excerpts from the text in his incredibly captivating way.

During their first collaboration at the Festival aufm Platz, an almost symbiotic artistic relationship developed between Dietmar Wunder and the Vision String Quartet. The four award-winning musicians are welcome guests at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Berlin Philharmonie and Wigmore Hall London. In their original compositions, they create a universe of sounds inspired by folk, pop, rock, funk, minimal and singer-songwriter music.

The event takes place outdoors, lasts approx. one hour and is seated.
