Faszinierendes Quellwasser – die Fliegerquellen bei Bad Essen-Barkhausen

Water forms the basis of all life. We use it every day for cooking and drinking, but also for showering and cleaning. But we know little about how drinking water is obtained. On the walk in the water conservation area to the so-called Flieger springs, we will learn and experience a lot about drinking water. The role of trees and rock strata in groundwater formation is explained. The water in the Flieger springs is very calcareous and coats the stones, cones and wood in the stream with a white lime crust, the sinter. The stream is a habitat for animals such as freshwater shrimps, fire salamander larvae and larvae of the striped damselfly, which we will look at.
