Erntedankfest mit Herbstmarkt in Sittensen
On the first Sunday in October, Sittensen celebrates its Harvest Festival.
The Sittensen Fall Market is also taking place that weekend.
Many local shops open their doors or offer all kinds of delicacies along the parade route.
Sunday begins with a thanksgiving service in the church, which has been festively decorated by the village communities.
With approximately 50–80 decorated floats and up to 10,000 visitors, the Harvest Festival parade in Sittensen is one of the largest harvest festival parades in Germany; it begins at 1:30 p.m.
Following the ceremony on the Heimathaus grounds, prizes will be awarded to the most beautiful floats.
