It has become a tradition to celebrate the Christmas market on the first weekend of Advent in the monastery town of Ebstorf, against the beautiful backdrop of the medieval monastery.
Visitors and guests can look forward to a festive atmosphere. Vendors offer handicrafts, arts and crafts, homemade Christmas cookies, handcrafted soaps, and much more for sale. Of course, hearty culinary delights, cotton candy, gingerbread, crepes, roasted almonds, mulled wine, and punch are also a must.
The monastery opens its cloister—which holds a special charm, especially in winter—to visitors of the Christmas market. On Saturday, the annual concert by the Ebstorf parish trombone choir is a special highlight and gets everyone in the mood for the upcoming Advent and Christmas season. Santa Claus is also eagerly awaited on both days.
