Emden Rund is one of the most spectacular long-distance dragon boat races in Germany. Teams from Berlin, Dortmund, Bochum, Duisburg, Essen and many other places are drawn to Emden
Here, in the heart of the city, a regatta takes place for which it is worth traveling from all over Germany
The dragon boat teams traverse a course at top speed that has it all. There are 17 tight bends, 6 of which can only be mastered with the skill of the helmsmen and a well-coordinated team. It is not for nothing that this regatta is known throughout Germany as "The Acapulco of East Frisia" or "The Green Hell of East Frisia". It is also spectacular for every spectator when the almost 13 m long boats with a crew of 20 people race through the bends. Here, too, the boats can be accompanied by bicycle within shouting distance.
The start is at the level of the WVE Emden boathouse in the direction of Hinte. The finish line is the Lindenhof wall bridge.
