Die Landesbühne Nord präsentiert "Das Feuerschiff"

A lightship serves as a navigational aid for other vessels on the open sea thanks to its constant position. A failure of this signal would have fatal consequences. During its final watch, a lightship anchored in the Baltic Sea takes on board the crew of a boat in distress. But the men turn out to be a gang of three armed criminals who make unreasonable demands of Captain Freytag and his crew. Freytag wants to resolve the situation peacefully without the lightship having to abandon its position—but the other side refuses to cooperate… 

Michael Uhl, who has already directed *FEUER AUS DEN KESSELN* and the interactive radio play *MARSCH DER MATROSEN* for the Landesbühne, is known for his meticulous research in his locally rooted works. Now he is tackling an adaptation of the novella *DAS FEUERSCHIFF* by Siegfried Lenz (1926–2014). In cooperation with the Wilhelmshaven Coastal Museum, the first part of the evening will take place as a “site-specific” event: The audience will experience the play’s prologue aboard the lightship “Norderney,” which is moored at Bontekai as part of the Coastal Museum’s exhibition*—so nothing stands in the way of the suspense on the high seas!&
