Die Landesbühne Nord präsentiert "Alibi (The murder of Roger Ackroyd)

  • Straight theatre

Hercule Poirot had actually planned to retire to England and devote himself to growing pumpkins. But his expertise as a detective is needed at the house next door. For the residents of Fernly Hall, there’s no doubt that the death of the wealthy widow, Mrs. Ferrars, must have been a suicide. But when her fiancé, Roger Ackroyd, is found dead shortly afterward, it becomes clear that this can’t be a coincidence. Is the perpetrator a member of the staff? Or did the murder take place within the family itself? Together with Dr. James Sheppard, a local physician, Poirot takes on this case. Will they succeed in convicting the guilty party…?

With Agatha Christie’s (1890–1976) *Alibi*, we continue our “Queen of Crime” series with another masterpiece of crime fiction. The novel, published in England in 1926, was the author’s first work to be adapted for the stage. Mark Shanahan’s new stage adaptation is every bit as suspenseful as the original and promises captivating entertainment, quirky characters, and suspense right up to the very last minute!
