Christmas Market Above and Below Ground

When the Rammelsberg UNESCO World Heritage Site is decked out in festive splendor on the third weekend of Advent, December 12 and 13, 2026, visitors can look forward to a very special Christmas market experience—both above and below ground.

Amid historic tunnels, sparkling lights, and traditional craftsmanship, the “Christmas at Rammelsberg” event creates an atmospheric Advent experience that combines the history of mining with the magic of the Christmas season.

Directions & Parking facilities

Getting There & Parking

Once again this year, a free Park & Ride service is available to make your trip more convenient.

There are numerous parking spaces on Alte Heerstraße where you can park your vehicle. Buses stop every 20 minutes at a total of five stops in Baßgeige. From there, you can travel quickly, comfortably, and free of charge to Rammelsberg and back again. (Address for your GPS: Alte Heerstraße 13a, 38644 Goslar).

The first bus departs at 10:30 a.m. on both days
from “Alte Heerstraße”/Baßgeige. The last departure from Rammelsberg is at 7:00 p.m., returning to “Alte Heerstraße”/Baßgeige.

Please note: During the event weekend, there will be access controls on Rammelsbergerstraße. You can reach the event grounds exclusively via the free P+R service. There are no parking spaces available at the museum!

How do I get there by bus from the Goslar train station?

Goslar’s train station is located right on the edge of the historic old town, in the immediate vicinity of the pedestrian zone. This means that if you arrive by train, almost all of the sights are within a short walking distance.

You can also reach the Christmas-themed Rammelsberg from Goslar Train Station via bus line “803 – Bergbaumuseum.” Please note that the bus departs from the station forecourt. You can find the schedule at: https://www.stadtbus-goslar.de/

Upon presentation of a valid event ticket, the bus ride on line 803 is free!!

Please note: Bus line 803 is not included in our Park & Ride service. The fare rates of the Braunschweig regional transit system apply if you do not have a valid event ticket.
