This photography workshop with Mark Mühlhaus combines historical reflection with visual art.

From June 11 to 14, 2026 (consecutive dates, not individually), the Porta Westfalica Concentration Camp Memorial and Documentation Site and the Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial, in cooperation with the VHS Minden - Bad Oeynhausen, are offering the photo workshop Blickwinkel with photographer Mark Mühlhaus. The workshop will be accompanied by Ulrike Jensen (Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial) and Thomas Lange (Porta Westfalica Concentration Camp Memorial and Documentation Site

For many years, workshops with Mark Mühlhaus at various concentration camp memorials (including Bergen-Belsen, Dachau, Neuengamme and the Nazi Forced Labor Documentation Center) have opened up new perspectives on the history of Nazi camps. The aim of the workshop in Porta Westfalica is to learn manual photography with digital SLR cameras and to explore the history of the satellite camps at Porta Westfalica by searching for their own motifs, as well as to find a personal approach to the locations and the topic. At the end of the workshop, a selection of images will be made for an exhibition.

Mark Mühlhaus focuses on telling stories with images He has been working for many years on racism and neo-fascism, commemorative politics, educational work and responsibility in relation to National Socialism.
