Exhibition at the Town Hall: “Stader Impressions”

Stefan Schmarje is exhibiting his paintings in the foyer of the New Town Hall in Stade.

After Stefan Schmarje presented works by his students at the Town Hall in Stade last year, he is now showcasing his own creations. Under the title “Stader Impressions,” around 20 works by the Stade painter can be seen. Predominantly in oil and acrylic techniques, he depicts various views of Stade.

Schmarje moves across the entire spectrum of artistic styles from realism, impressionism, and expressionism to abstraction. His paintings aim to create a connection between art and the viewer, between the visible and emotions.

Stefan Schmarje worked in various professions before he took the step into artistic self-employment over 20 years ago. Several years of intensive painting study at the “Worpswede Painting Studio” under Lothar Schulz-Goldap paved the way to his own painting school and his establishment as an artist.

The art exhibition can be seen from June 5, 2026, to July 3, 2026, in the foyer of the New Town Hall in Stade. The opening reception begins on Thursday, June 4, at 7 p.m. Advance registration is requested by Wednesday, June 3, via kultur@stadt-stade.de or 04141/401-411.
